Praise For The Show

"Downright funny." - Bill Carter, New York Times

"Have I told Reba McEntire she's my favorite? Reba McEntire arrives tonight as the sort of natural TV star that makes you wonder what took her so long to get here... smart, new-fashioned, surprising; mostly irresistible. And Reba knows how to spin it. She's got timing to burn." - Diane Werts, Newsday

"Reba and company keep the brisk script afloat with a sardonic tone and a touch of sentiment; think upscale 'Roseanne.'" - Carole Horst, Daily Variety

"Country singer Reba McEntire steps smoothly into this smart, stinging comedy...McEntire is perfect as the droll voice of reason." - Mike Hughes, Gannett News Service

"McEntire offers a refreshingly sassy blast of high spirits and good humor as she makes her TV series debut...Reba's a darn-tootin' hoot." - Mike Duffy, Detroit Free Press

"With McEntire's comedic timing and her down-home delivery, infidelity, and teen pregnancy are made downright amusing. The main thing 'Reba' has going for it, however, is credibility. It's real. These things do happen." - Miki Turner, Fort Worth Star-Telegraph

"McEntire owns the show. She's a natural sitcom performer with surprisingly good comic timing. 'Reba' is at its best when McEntire takes center stage." - Rob Owen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"'Reba' is the best new crop of WB comedies. Watch it! This unexpectedly terrific comedy stars the country music legend as a Texas suburban mom whose family is fit for 'Jerry Springer'." - Aaron Barnhart, Kansas City Star

"'Reba' is often laugh-out-loud funny. And McEntire is very good at playing this character who's strong and spunky and somehow keeps her sanity in the midst of this lunacy." - Scott D. Pierce, Salt Lake City Deseret News

"Reba could be the next Roseanne." - John Colsoli, Mediaweek

"Reba McEntire in a WB sitcom? Hell yeah, with this un-Brady look at family dysfunction; a laugh-out-loud Friday night option. And, damn, that Reba can sure turn the world on with her smile!" - Marc Berman, The Programming Insider

"...that Reba McEntire — she's the Carol Brady of the new millennium." - Marc Berman, The Programming Insider

"Reba's funny, as is Christopher Rich as her husband." - Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic

Characters

Reba Hart

Reba Hart (Reba McEntire), once the matriarch of a happy middle class nuclear family, saw her world fall apart as one thing after another seemed to go wrong. Moments within finding out her marriage can not be salvaged due to infidelity, news comes that teenage daughter Cheyenne is pregnant. Now Reba finds herself having to live life as a single mom with three kids, a new grandbaby, and the addition of the younger woman who Brock cheated with joining their family.

Despite the trials, Reba maintains a cordial relationship with Brock, her ex, launches her own successful real estate business, and helps her children grow and flourish to follow their own chosen paths in life.

Brock Hart

Brock Hart (Christopher Rich), a dentist by trade and professional golfer by passion, causes the divorce from wife Reba by impregnating his dental hygienist, Barbra Jean. Brock feels obligated to step up and marry Barbra Jean so they can raise Henry as a family unit. Brock remains involved with all of his children, to the point of moving the new family so they can live nearby where Reba and the other children live.

Barbra Jean Booker Hart

Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman) worked as Brock's dental hygienist until their affair resulted in her becoming pregnant. Soon after having Henry, Barbra Jean decides to devote all her time to being a mom. As Henry grew older, Barbra Jean went after her dream of becoming a TV news weathergirl.

Barbra Jean could best be described as a ditzy blonde with good intentions even if her efforts weren't reciprocated. Despite playing a key role in the dissolution of Reba and Brock's marriage, Barbra Jean desperately wants to be best friends with Reba, regardless of Reba's obvious disdain for her.

Van Montgomery

Van (Steve Howey), the star cornerback of the high school football team, is forced to grow up fast when he finds himself expecting a baby with Cheyenne at the tender age of 17. After an impromptu wedding, Van moves in to Reba's house to live with Cheyenne and raise baby Elizabeth. Though often seen as the family goof, Van steps up to the plate and comes through when needed.

After the doctor finds an unexpected spinal problem, Van's short career as a professional football player comes to a sudden conclusion. Forced to find some way to support his growing family, Van joins Reba in selling real estate, a job that eventually lands hi a better position in a rival company.

Cheyenne Montgomery

Cheyenne's (Joanna Garcia) 17-year-old world centered on boys and the drill team is rocked with the discovery that she is pregnant. A quick wedding and a new live in husband later; Cheyenne spends her senior year of high school pregnant. Graduation day brought not only a diploma but also the birth of Cheyenne and Van's daughter Elizabeth.

Cheyenne, while battling an alcohol addiction, decides to follow in her father's footsteps and attend college in hopes of becoming a dentist.

Kyra Hart

Kyra (Scarlett Pomers), the middle child of the original three, is often viewed as not only smart but also as a smart aleck. Often overlooked as the member of the family with the least issues, Kyra chooses to move in with Brock and Barbra Jean in hopes of getting more attention in a less chaotic household.

Inspired by a love of music and the recognized talent of her fledgling band, Kyra chooses to forgo college in favor of going on tour with the band.

Jake Hart

Jake (Mitch Holleman) is the youngest child of the original group of three children shared by Reba and Brock. Jake, seemingly unfazed by the upheaval within his family, often adjusts easily to whatever comes his way. Despite the occasional torment by big sister Kyra, Jake causes little need for drama as he grows from a precocious child to a young man living a life centered on school, sports, and a newly blossoming interest in girls.
